An accomplished Interventional Pain Specialist based in Baton Rouge, Dr. Patel expertly pinpoints the exact source of your pain before choosing the treatment that most effectively intervenes with the transmission signals throughout your body.

Dr. Patel received his medical degree at LSU Health Sciences Center in 2005 in New Orleans, Louisiana. After finishing an internal medicine internship at Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge, he completed an Anesthesiology residency at Tulane University. Dr. Patel then combined a passion for medicine and teaching at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he served as an assistant professor for the Anesthesiology Department. In this role, he earned the respect and admiration of his students who named him one of the department’s “Top 10 Teachers” two years in a row.  Dr. Patel continued his training with a fellowship in Pain Management at UAB.  In 2012, he joined The NeuroMedical Center and continues to specialize in treating all types of pain with Team Patel.

With a solid background in Biological Sciences and Business Administration from LSU, she pursued her passion for healthcare, graduating from LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies in 2022. Her expertise lies in aiding Dr. Patel in both clinic and hospital environments, focusing on comprehensive care for acute and chronic pain conditions.

Emily Wagner is a dedicated Physician Assistant specializing in acute and chronic pain management. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree from LSU in 2012 before delving into a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport, graduating in 2014. Her journey in healthcare led her to join Team Patel in 2015, where she passionately engages in patient care, striving to alleviate discomfort and improve lives affected by pain. Beyond the clinic, she is committed to continuous learning, staying updated with the latest advancements in pain management. She finds immense fulfillment in guiding patients towards a better quality of life.
